Level 3 Diploma in Adult Care

All our programmes are accredited for Edexcel Awarding Body and meet the National Standards for the Social Care Sector as defined by Skills for Care Sector Skills Council.

DHCT is the provider of choice for many social care employers in Cornwall supporting recruitment and training for care workers who may work in residential or nursing homes, domiciliary care, day centres or some clinical healthcare settings.

Adult Care Worker Level 3

This course is for senior care workers, care assistants or personal assistants working in residential, domiciliary care, supported living and independent employers with  direct payment

Senior care worker will make a positive difference to someone’s life when they are faced with physical, practical, social, emotional or intellectual challenges.

They will be expected to exercise judgement and take appropriate action to support individuals to maintain their independence, dignity and control. By providing leadership, guidance and direction at the frontline of care delivery, they will be instrumental in improving the health and wellbeing of those receiving care and support.

You must have a level 2 in health and social care or equivalent

You will complete all the below mandatory units:

  1. Safeguarding in Adult Care
  2. Mental Capacity and Restrictive Practice for Adult Care
  3. Duty of Care in Adult Care
  4. Effective Communication in Adult Care
  5. Handling Information in Adult Care
  6. Person-centred Practice for Adult Care
  7. Choice and Independence, Health and Wellbeing for Adult Care
  8. Equality, Diversity, Inclusion and Human Rights in Adult Care
  9. Health and Safety (General and Topics) for Adult Care
  10. Infection Prevention and Control in Adult Care
  11. Continuous Development when Working in Adult Care
  12. Personal Wellbeing when Working in Adult Care

+ sector specific modules related to the workplace

Blended delivery including; one to one support with a competent tutor, along with a remote or face to face learning environment. We have a recently developed ESkills platform that all learners can use as a resource when completing their units to develop their competencies

The duration for this course is 11 months, but you can complete earlier

The full cost of this course is £2250.00
 
This course can be funded via Advanced learner loans.
 
ELCAS funding is also available for  members of the Armed Forces or have reached the end of active service.
