DHCT is the provider of choice for many social care employers in Cornwall supporting recruitment and training for care workers who may work in residential or nursing homes, domiciliary care, day centres or some clinical healthcare settings.
Level 3 Certificate in Understanding the Care Management of Diabetes
The purpose of this qualification is to increase learners’ awareness and understanding of diabetes.
By completing the qualification, learners will develop in-depth knowledge of diabetes which could support progression onto appropriate qualifications, and into relevant employment in the health and social care sector.
The objective of this qualification is to gain knowledge and understanding of:
• the types, causes, signs and symptoms of diabetes
• anatomy and physiology
• the impact of diabetes on individuals, others and society
• the treatment and management of diabetes
• common complications of diabetes.
There are no specific prior skills/knowledge a learner must have for this qualification; however, learners might find it helpful if they have already achieved a level 2 qualification in a health or health and social care-related area

Understand the treatment and management of diabetes
Understand the complications of diabetes
Blended delivery including; one to one support with a competent tutor, along with a remote or face to face learning environment. We have a recently developed ESkills platform that all learners can use as a resource when completing their units to develop their competencies
