Adult Care Worker Level 2
All our programmes are accredited for Edexcel Awarding Body and meet the National Standards for the Social Care Sector as defined by Skills for Care Sector Skills Council.
DHCT is the provider of choice for many social care employers in Cornwall supporting recruitment and training for care workers who may work in residential or nursing homes, domiciliary care, day centres or some clinical healthcare settings.
This course is for frontline care staff for vulnerable adults to within their own homes, day care centres, residential and nursing homes and other healthcare settings.
In order to meet this standard learners will be required to achieve a:
- BTEC Level 2 Diploma in Care
- Communication in Care Settings
Personal - Development in Care Settings
- Equality and Inclusion in Care Settings
- Duty of Care
- Safeguarding and Protection in Care
Settings - Responsibilities of a Care Worker
- Implement Person-centred
approaches in Care Settings - Health, Safety and Wellbeing in Care
Settings - Handling Information in Care
Settings. - + client specific units within Dementia, Learning Disabilities and Mental Health ect
- Communication in Care Settings
- The Care Certificate
- Level 1 English
- Level 1 Maths
Duration: 12 months to complete
Cost: Non Levy Employers pay a Contribution of 5% which is £150. The Government will fund 95%. Please view our funding page for further information
Grant: if the learner is aged 16-18 the employer will receive a grant of £1000.
Learners must undertake an End Point Assessment prior to successful completion of their standard. This will include:
- Self Assessment of confidence for role
- Professional Discussion
- A Judgement Test to confirm knowledge
- Present portfolio
Delivery: Blended learning through one to one support with an occupationally competent tutor/assessor in the workplace and our virtual learning environment.
