through the ESF project Skills Lab and Skills Store to support the care sector in Cornwall to create a Care Champions Network, of qualified care trainers who can support the sector to maintain and update skills regularly.<\/p><p>The Champions network will consist of experienced care workers who will be supported to deliver training and upskill their workforce.<\/p><ul><li>DHCT will undertake training needs analysis with care employers to identify the needs of their workforce.<\/li><li>DHCT will create training and delivery plans for care employers to meet their workforce skills gaps.<\/li><li>DHCT will offer a range of short course accredited Level 2 qualifications to support employers to meet their skills gaps. These could include:<ul><li>Certificate in Awareness of Mental Health Problems<\/li><li>Certificate in Understanding Behaviour That Challenges<\/li><li>Certificate in Common Health Conditions<\/li><li>Certificate in the Principles of Dementia Care<\/li><li>Certificate in the Principles of End of Life Care<\/li><li>Certificate in the Principles of the Prevention and Control of Infection in Health Care Settings<\/li><li>Certificate in Information, Advice or Guidance<\/li><li>Certificate in Understanding the Safe Handling of Medication in Health and Social Care<\/li><li>Certificate in Principles of Working with Individuals with Learning Disabilities<\/li><li>Certificate in Understanding Working with People with Mental Health Needs<\/li><li>Certificate in Understanding Specific Learning Difficulties<\/li><li>Certificate in Diabetes Management<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>DHCT will identify care workers who would like to become qualified trainers and join the Care Champions Network.<\/li><li>DHCT create training packages for the champions to use within their work environments.
